Your Introduction to Silo Ridge Field Club

A designer golf course. Residences. Family and community. Outdoor Pursuits. Discovery Land Company’s blueprint for luxury residential private club communities has proven to be very successful and now the company is offering the same lifestyle experience close to the Met Area with its latest development, Silo Ridge Field Club.

Located in Amenia, New York, Silo Ridge will be built around 245 residences and a world-class 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Fazio. Its amenities will be seemingly endless, including a family activity barn, an athletic field house, a clubhouse complete with a spa, and all of the outdoor activities that the beautiful Hudson Valley has to offer.

“This does not exist in the Metropolitan Area,” says Discovery sales director Dan O’Callaghan about the property, which is just a 90-minute drive from Manhattan. “There’s no planned residential community on the high-end level with golf, shooting, equestrian, and kids programming being available. What people are buying is the Discovery lifestyle and experience. They’re buying a beautiful home, but also into the $250 million worth of amenities that we’re going to build into this facility.”

Fazio’s redesign of the property’s existing golf course is nearly complete, as several greens will be sodded early this spring in plan of opening on 4th of July weekend. Being reworked upon its already stellar tract of land, the new championship-caliber course will wonderfully blend into the natural landscape and offer outstanding views.

There has already been a strong response to the development’s residences. Five distinct neighborhoods will present a variety of living options on the property, including condominium or lodge units, detached homes, and estate homes tucked away on forested parcels. The architecture itself will suit the Hudson Valley and utilize the finest local materials.

Groundbreaking is expected to begin in March, with plans calling for an academy building on the practice facility to complement the golf course. The building will feature two indoor hitting bays, a lounge, and dining to create what O’Callaghan calls a mini-clubhouse before the 30,000 square-foot main clubhouse is constructed.

The family activity barn will also be an early focus as the project continues to accumulate members. The centrally located facility will be the hub for family fun and entertainment, offering a lounge pool, gaming room, event hall, and movie theater. Tennis courts and a lake pavilion are also planned in the same area.

As with each of Discovery’s properties, Silo Ridge will embrace its surroundings to develop its signature family recreation program, Outdoor Pursuits. This program will offer a special way for families to enjoy the activities of the Hudson Valley, as members of the Outdoor Pursuits team will help arrange anything from overnight camping trips or afternoon hikes to hunting, fishing or equestrian activities.

“We think it’s very unique to the market and the Discovery brand name, which is more well-known in the west, is really going to explode in the Northeast as people see what’s going to be the finished project at Silo Ridge,” remarked O’Callaghan.
