ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 29, 2011) – The Met Area was once again well represented on the national junior scene as the AJGA recently named four local teenage standouts to its 2011 Rolex Junior All-America teams.

Karen Chung of Livingston, N.J., who won the AJGA’s Thunderbird International Junior and had three other top-five AJGA finishes this season, was honored with First Team recognition. Chung also made it to the quarterfinals of the 2011 U.S. Girls' Junior.

Last year's U.S. Junior Amateur champion, Jim Liu of Smithtown, N.Y., and Annie Park of Levittown, N.Y., who won the Lessing's AJGA Classic in July and recorded five other top-ten finishes in 2011, were named to the Second Team. Harrison Shih of Saddle River, N.J., was named Honorable Mention after a successful season that included a victory at the AJGA Northern Virginia Junior.

Determined strictly on the Polo Golf Rankings, the Rolex Junior All-America teams recognize the year-long achievements of the best of the best. For a complete listing of the 2011 Rolex Junior All-Americans, click here.
