First Tee of Nassau County visits Glen Oaks for MGA Foundation/MetLife Youth Clinic

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (August 15, 2016) – The First Tee Program of Nassau County traveled to Glen Oaks Club, the site of the upcoming 101st Met Open, on Monday for the summer’s third MGA Foundation/MetLife Youth Clinic.  A blend of instruction, fun, and education made for a successful day of golf.

Upon their arrival, the 40 First Tee participants were given a brief history of the Met Open and information about some of the individuals playing in next week’s event. From there, the kids were split into groups to work on different aspects of their game. The coaches from the First Tee spent about a half hour with each group working on putting, pitching, and full shots at Glen Oak’s spectacular practice facilities.

The session concluded with lunch and gave the kids a chance to watch some of the competitors playing in the Pro-Am that was taking place. Adding to the excitement was a visit by Snoopy, the official mascot of MetLife. MetLife is the official supporter of the MGA Foundation and made the day’s event possible.

This event, the third in a series of youth clinics conducted annually by the MGA Foundation and MetLife, was an exciting and informative day at Glen Oaks for the kids of the First Tee of Nassau County.
