James Saporito and Wayne Mulato win 24th MGA Senior Net Four-Ball

SETAUKET, N.Y. (May 19, 2016) – 82 teams came out to the beautiful St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Setauket, N.Y. to compete in the 24th MGA Senior Net Four-Ball Tournament.

After posting the lowest score early on in the day, James Saporito of Bethpage State Park and Wayne Mulato of Cherry Valley maintained the lead to earn the title with a stellar net score of 15-under 55.

Close behind were St. George’s own Mike Jackson and Kevin Curley who carded an impressive net score of 12-under 58 to earn second low-net. Finishing in one of the first groups of the day were team members Frank Dellaira from MGA eClub – Long Island and Richard Lopiccolo from Round Swamp who earned the third low-net with a net 9-under 61.

Another St. George’s team consisting of Bill Cavallo and Guy Intoci used their background knowledge of the course to help them earn low gross for the tournament an even-70. 

The MGA Senior Net Four-Ball Tournament is open to male amateur golfers, age 50 and over, who maintain a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 18.0. 

St. George’s Golf & Country Club played to a par 70 at 5,844 yards.
