Guidera leads 8 qualifiers from Darlington

MAHWAH, N.J. (June 14, 2017) - Qualifying for The 70th MGA Public Links Championship continued today at Darlington Golf Course. A total of eight players punched their tickets to the July 6 championship at Ballyowen Golf Club in Hamburg, N.J.

Kevin Guidera of MGA Eclub- New Jersey earned medalist honors on the day thanks to a round of 1-under 70. One stroke behind Guidera was Billy Byrnes of Silver Lakes Men’s Golf Club who carded an even par 71.  KJ Kim of Darlington secured his place at Ballyowen with a 1-over 72.

At 2-over 73 were Peter Kozubal of MGA Eclub- New Jersey and Christopher Lee of MGA Eclub- New Jersey.

Jack Panagos of Neshanic Valley, John Trainor of MGA Eclub- New Jersey, and Parker Mann of Met Restaurant all qualified with rounds of 3-over 74.

Darlington played to a par 71 at 6500 yards for a starting field of 71 players.

The MGA will host its final Public Links Championship qualifiers on June 21 at Putnam National Golf Club in Mahopac, N.Y., and Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford, Conn.
