Cameron Wilson leads Met Area competitors at Q-School Final

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 11, 2016) - The Final Stage of Web.com Tour Qualifying School concluded Sunday at Orange County National in Winter Garden, Fla., with Rowayton, Conn.'s Cameron Wilson recording the best finish of Met Area competitors to secure status on the Web.com Tour in 2017.

Wilson, the 2009 MGA Player of the Year and 2014 NCAA champion, finished tied for 23rd with a four-day total of 6-under 280. With his finish, Wilson earns guaranteed entry into the first eight events of the 2017 Web.com Tour regular season. Wilson posted a 3-under 69 to begin play on Thursday, then remained steady throughout the four-day championship by posting scores of 70-71-70 to finish comfortably inside the top-45, at which point guaranteed Web.com Tour event entry for the 2017 season ends.

The medalist from the Web.com Tour Q-School Final Stage is fully exempt for the 2017 Web.com Tour season, while those finishing second through tenth are guaranteed entry into the first 12 events of the 2017 Web.com Tour regular season. The entire field—which also included Deepdale assistant professional Ben PollandMarc Turnesa of Rockville Centre, N.Y., and David Pastore of Greenwich, Conn.—receives conditional status on the 2017 Web.com Tour.
