New USGA Tournament Management software available through Golf Genius partnership

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 10, 2017) - The Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce a partnership between Golf Genius Software, the USGA and the State and Regional Golf Association community that will enhance the member club experience with cutting-edge tournament management software technology in time for the 2017 season.

The USGA Tournament Management (TM) Club software is the result of a collaboration between the USGA and Golf Genius Software. Golf Genius is recognized as the industry leader in software solutions for tournament management and was selected by the USGA due to the proven quality and versatility of its product, the scalability of the Golf Genius cloud solution, and the Golf Genius commitment to providing outstanding support.

The MGA will offer two distinct, new products—as a replacement for the current Tournament Pairing Program (TPP)—to its member clubs through this exciting collaboration:

The USGA Tournament Management Club, powered by Golf Genius, is functionally equivalent to TPP® providing all the tools needed by the golf shop at a private club or public facility to set up and run member events, leagues and outings. It substantially reduces the workload in the golf shop and provides best-in-class printed materials including fully customizable scorecards, cart signs, bag tags, locker labels, tee sheets, alpha lists, etc., at no additional cost.

The USGA Tournament Management Club Premium, powered by Golf Genius, includes all the features of the base product plus capabilities to improve the golfer experience, GGS mobile app, live scoring, live TV leaderboards, online registration & payments, customizable website for each event, league, or outing and club system integrations. TM Club Premium will be available as an optional upgrade to clubs for an additional annual upgrade fee of $2500.

Club Onboarding & Training

Clubs that are interested in learning more about TM or would like to begin using TM should contact MGA staff prior to being given access to the software. The MGA will offer a wide range of training opportunities to ensure member clubs are equipped properly. Additionally, TM has an extensive online help center with tutorials, videos, and how-to guides available 24/7 for all aspects of the software.

Support

As a service based organization, the MGA prides itself in being best-in-class. This partnership further enhances the MGA's capabilities and gives member clubs an unprecedented level of backing. Support will be available by phone, e-mail and online chat directly from the TM web site.

Seminars

The MGA will provide general overview of the USGA TM Club this spring at our annual Handicap & Rules Seminars:
          ●  March 25, 2017 - Cherry Valley Club - Long Island
          ●  April 1, 2017 - Knollwood Country Club - Westchester
          ●  April 8, 2017 - Montclair Golf Club - New Jersey

TPP Transition

The GHIN Tournament Pairing Program Online (TPP) will be taken off line at the end of 2017. The TPP desktop application will also reach the end of its lifecycle because of incompatibility with Windows 10. We strongly advise all TPP users to begin the migration to TM as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition into the 2018 season.

The MGA is extremely enthusiastic about this new collaboration and confident that the USGA Tournament Management software will offer our clubs a highly flexible application that will simplify all aspects of club tournament operations. Now is a great time for member clubs to embrace TM software and benefit from this new tournament platform.

Please contact the Handicapping/GHIN Department for additional information.
