ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 12, 2015) – Yesterday, Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. hosted the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Media Day to announce what’s in store for its inaugural year.
Among the many incredible golfers in the field, there are 22 major champions aiming to add to their repertoire. At the head of the list is Two-Time Defending Champion Inbee Park, who earned the title in both ’13 and ’14. The Championship offers a 3.5 million dollar purse – one of the highest in women’s golf.

(May 7, 2015) - As the 115th U.S. Open at Chambers Bay quickly approaches, players in the Met Area and beyond are competing in local qualifying rounds to get one step closer to the final championship field. The MGA is conducting four local qualifying rounds throughout the area, beginning on Monday, May 11. Professionals and amateurs will compete for few coveted qualifying positions, and from there those who advance through local qualifying will play in a 36-hole Sectional Qualifying Round.

Zahringer’s impressive round included seven birdies and one eagle on Westchester Country Club’s West Course to give him a four shot lead going into Wednesday’s final round.

UPDATED (May 5, 2015) - The match play round of 32 featured three Met Area duos yesterday at the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA., who looked to grab a spot in the round of 16. Only one team was able to make it through, the 29th seeded Doug Kleeschulte and Jeffrey Schaller of Kingston, N.Y. The team just got into the match play portion of the tournament by one shot, and have taken full advantage.
