Met Area Courses Well Represented in Golf Digest's "Top 100"

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 8, 2014) - Since 1966 Golf Digest has been ranking America's Top 100 courses and one thing has always been a constant, the gems of the Met Area take up quite a bit of space on each year's list. 2015-2016's edition was no different, the top 10 alone featured five courses in the New York/New Jersey area. Below are the MGA member clubs that made the list and where they ranked.

( December 30, 2014) - Former MGA president Paul Dillon will receive the Metropolitan Golf Course Superintendent’s (MetGCSA) highest honor, the John Reid Lifetime Achievement Award.  The award will be presented at the MetGCSA’s Winter Seminar at Westchester CC on January 14th.  Dillon, who has served local golf in many capacities for more than a quarter century is a member at Winged Foot GC and resides in Larchmont, N.Y.  Mr.

(December 16, 2014) - 2009 MGA Player of the Year Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven battled the difficult Fazio and Champion courses at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. for six straight days and it all paid off in the end. The two-time Ike Champion finished at 9-under par after 108 holes of play in the Web.com Tour Q-School Finals, earning him a tie for 28th finish. That finish slotted him in the 11-45th range, which gets those players eight exemptions in the 2015 Web.com Tour season.

(December 15, 2014) - Five grueling rounds have been completed at the Web.com Tour Q-School Finals at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. and two of the locals are in search of one more solid final round to launch them up the leaderboard. Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven sits at 10-under, which puts him tied for 18th with five other players. Wilson, who fired a 2-under 70 today on the Fazio Course, is three shots back of a top 10 finish, which earns players exemptions into 12 events on the 2015 Web.com Tour.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 12, 2014) - After firing 3-over 74 yesterday Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven found himself tied for 104th and needing to make up some ground. In his second round Wilson did just that on the Fazio Course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., carding a 6-under 66 that featured seven birdies and just one bogey. The 2009 MGA Player of the Year and reigning NCAA Individual Champion shot 82 spots up in the standings and sits at 3-under through 36 holes, tied for 22nd with 72 holes left to play over the next four days.
