(December 11, 2014) - The first round of play is complete at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. in the Web.com Q-School Finals and while none of the three locals in the field went under par, they still have five rounds to make up ground. The leading man was Marc Turnesa of Rockville Centre, N.Y., who carded an even par 72 on the Fazio Course. Turnesa's round featured five birdies, but five bogeys kept him from a solid under par round and have him tied for 51st after the first day.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 8, 2014) - The final stage is set for Web.com Tour Qualifying School and three Met Area locals are gearing up for the six-round 108 hole tournament that begins this Thursday at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on the Fazio and Champion courses. Competitors will play 18 holes each day until next Tuesday when the top 45 players that earn exemptions onto the 2015 Web.com Tour will be determined.

HARRISON, N.Y. (December 4, 2014) - Stephen F. Boyd of Morristown, N.J., was elected to a one-year term as President of the Metropolitan Golf Association at the Association’s 117^th Annual Meeting and Dinner on Wednesday, December 3 at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y. Boyd, a member of Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., is the MGA’s 62^nd President. He will lead the 22-member Executive Committee and will serve as the chairman of the Association’s charitable Foundation.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 21, 2014) - After a dominating performance at the Senior PGA Professional National Championship just a week ago, Frank Esposito of Brooklake somehow was able to top that this week at the Champions Tour Q-School Tournament at Panther Lake GC in Winter Garden, Fla. He claimed another victory with scores of 71, 68, 67, and 71 to finish with a four round total of 11-under 277, earning him a full exemption on the Champions Tour in 2015.

(November 21, 2014) - The MGA recently concluded its annual series of Educational Forums which provided innovative and interactive programming for MGA Members, club leaders, and interested golfers in the Met Area. A wide range of topics were covered including the Rules of Golf, the Handicapping system, golf course maintenance, and caddying.

(November 21, 2014) - The final round of stage two qualifying for the Web.com Tour will end today and a few locals may be heading to the final stage at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Dec. 11-16. Already gearing up and on their way to the finals are 2014 MGA Player of the Year David Pastore of Griff Harris and 2009 MGA Player of the Year Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 20, 2014) - After two rounds of play at the Champions Tour Q-School Tournament it is the red-hot Frank Esposito of Brooklake who is in great position to solidify himself a spot on the Champions Tour in 2015. The top five finishers at this week's tournament are exempt on the Champions Tour next season and Esposito currently sits in second place after two rounds.

(November 20, 2014) - Two rounds have been completed at all three stage two venues for Web.com Tour Qualifying School and the Met Area locals have a lot of work to do in order to join Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven and David Pastore of Griff Harris at PGA National in December for the final stage.
