Longtime Manasquan River Superintendent Recognized

Glenn A. Miller of Brielle, the former superintendent of Manasquan River Golf Club, received the 2011 Distinguished Service Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of New Jersey.

The award is presented to a member who has served for at least 25 years and has contributed to the cause of improving golf turf and the advancement of the course superintendent profession.

First Tee Young Benefactors 2012 Kickoff Event at Drive 495

Bensel and Morris Win Third Senior-Junior Championship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 22, 2012) - 2007 Met Open Champion and accomplished Met Area professional Frank Bensel joined familiar partner Kevin Morris of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., in winning the duo's third title at the PGA Winter Championships Senior-Junior Team Championship.

Wagner's Offseason Work with Heins Continues to Pay Off

(January 22, 2012) - In what serves as a testament to the amount of work Johnson Wagner and coach Bobby Heins have put in this winter, the Met Area standout is now the hottest player on the PGA Tour through three events. After winning last week at the Sony Open in Oahu, Wagner followed it up with another clutch performance at the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation at the PGA West course in La Quinta, California.

Galloping Hill to Host 2016 New Jersey State Open

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 11, 2011) – As first reported on NJ.com, The New Jersey State Golf Association today announced that for the first time in its 112-year history, the New Jersey State Open Championship will be played at a public, county-owned course. The 2016 NJSGA Open will be hosted by Galloping Hill Golf Course, a Union County-owned facility in Kenilworth.

First Tee of Metropolitan New York Introduces "Path to College" Series

(January 9, 2012) - On Saturday, January 7th, more than 30 First Tee Metropolitan New York participants gathered at Mosholu Golf Course in the Bronx for the second seminar in The Path to College series. Designed to help high school students gain insight into the college application process, students were provided tips on how to build a solid resume.
