Youth reigned supreme on the top half of the bracket.  Josh Goldenberg (Fenway) outlasted some stiff competition in the Quarters & Semifinals.  Goldenberg, a Freshmen on the Golf Team at the University of Pennsylvania, took out the possibly the hottest player in the field in James McHugh (GlenArbor) in 19 holes.  To force extra holes, Goldenberg made an all world par save on 18, which included a 20 ft slider that he knew was good the moment it left his putterface.  Josh then took on Owen Elliott (MGA eClub) who had himself a difficult road to the Semifinals, and took out Nicholas (Winged Foot), Ferriter (Winged Foot), and then Michael Karger (Century).

On the other side of the bracket, experience was the name of the game.  Rob Johnson (Dutchess) continued his steady pace, as he took out Gray Barnes (Centennial) in his morning Quarterfinal Matchup  Rob, 48, is coming off ACL surgery last offseason.  He did not play competitive golf last season, but sure has been in great form the past two days.  In the afternoon, Johnson took on Germay Medina (Pelham/Split Rock) in what was a battle of attrition.  Both hit many fairways, but struggled to give themselves great birdie opportunities.  Nonetheless, Johnson kept his head down, and had a run of pars that were good enough to get him the 2 & 1 victory.
