100th Long Island Amateur Headlines 2023 Championship Slate
MINEOLA, N.Y. (February 3, 2023) - The Long Island Golf Association has released its 2023 championship schedule, offering players the opportunity to compete at some of Long Island’s most prestigious venues. Championship registration will open on March 1 at 10 a.m.

The 2023 season will kick off with the Richardson Memorial Championship Presented by Keystone Electronics Corp., May 4-6 at Wheatley Hills Golf Club.
The season’s first major championship, the 99th Long Island Open Presented By Stifel, will be June 6-8 at Huntington Crescent Club. Prior to the event, there will be two days of qualifying; May 15 at Indian Hills Country Club and May 18 at Bethpage State Park’s Red Course.
In 2022, Reid Howey of Piping Rock Club carded a 2-under 68 in the final round to finish three shots clear of the field at Westhampton Country Club. This will be Huntington Crescent’s third time hosting the championship.
Later in the month, the second and final major championship of the 2023 season, the 100th Long Island Amateur Championship Presented By Webster Bank, will be played June 12-15 at Meadow Brook Club. This will be Meadow Brook’s fourth time hosting the Long Island Amateur and its first since Ken Bakst won in 1994.
The 102nd Long Island Junior, Boys’ and Girls’ Championships will be June 21 at Smithtown Landing Golf Course. The 2023 Stoddard Matches will be held at Deepdale Golf Club on June 29. The 2023 Michael Hebron Championship will be contested July 6-7 at its annual host site, Bethpage Black.
In August, the LIGA’s premier women’s championship will be held at Bethpage State Park’s Red Course in Farmingdale, N.Y., with the 2023 Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship taking place August 16-17.
There are two great events scheduled for September, one to start the month and one to close the month. The 2023 LIGA Mid-Amateur Championship will take place at Nassau Country Club September 5-6. The 2023 Long Island Senior Open Championship Sponsored By Steve Madden will be contested at Laurel Links Country Club on September 27-28.
The LIGA will conduct two championships in October to close out the season: the 2023 George Sands Memorial Four-Ball Championship at North Shore Country Club (Oct. 16) and the Arthur Weber Memorial Senior Amateur Championship at Old Westbury Golf and Country Club (Oct. 19-20).
Dates for the 2023 Ricciardi Net Four-Ball Championship, an event typically held in the spring, will be announced once available.
