Provide Outstanding Service 

We need to provide our membership and their quest with outstanding service.  We are strictly a service industry, therefore it is important to keep in mind that our financial rewards, both individually as well as operationally can only be returned by the degree of service we provide.  Always remember that although we have certain privileges at the club, we are employees.

We must try to make the members hours at SAINT ANDREW’S, as free from worry, as full of pleasure, and as enjoyable as possible.

The Need to be Well Informed

To be thoroughly knowledgeable about our membership, their families and guests, our golf course and our own day-to-day operation.  It is extremely important for us to know everything that is happening about the club on a day-to-day basis.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Always dress and act professionally.
  • Always address members, their families and their guests as Mr., Mrs., and Miss.
  • Treat all members and guest uniformly.
  • Be polite, courteous and professional.
  • Cooperate with all co-workers.  Be a team player.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLILITES

Assist the Head Starter with the Following

  • Welcome and greet members, their families and guest with enthusiasm.
  • Assist in managing and training caddy force.
  • Assist in managing and training all outside operations staff.
  • Responsible for the overall supervision of all outside operations which would include cart, bagroom and range operations and Learning Center.
  • Assist professional staff and golf committee in development and administration of the caddy training program.
  • Administer Caddy Rating System.
  • Assign and pay caddies.
  • Accountability and reconciliation of the caddy fund.
  • Record member and guest play, cart number, caddy information and any additional information deemed necessary on the starting sheet.
  • Bill all daily activity in the CSG P.O.S. system.
  • Do daily closedown of the P.O.S system and provide appropriate reports to the accounting office.
  • Direct players to proper starting tees.
  • Administer course rules and dress code.
  • Investigate and report rules infractions to Golf Professional Staff & Golf Captain.
  • Inform all players as to course conditions.
  • Assist with member’s bags or carts when necessary.
  • Greet and organize kickoff of outings.  Organize marshals for the day.
  • Marshall golf course when necessary.
  • Always have a working knowledge of member status, i.e. House, Non-Resident, Suspended with accounting office.
  • Assist with any job related to the golf operation when necessary.
  • Alarm appropriate Zones and lock all appropriate doors.
  • Make sure at the close of business that the operation is ready for the next day’s business:
  • Cart barn is clean and organized
  • Range and Chipping greens are picked clean
  • Learning Center is organized, locked and alarmed
  • Balls are washed
  • All garbage, boxes, etc… are thrown in the dumpster at day’s end
  • All areas around the bagroom and pro shop are clean and organized

Apple Tree Learning Center

  • Responsible for the closing of the Learning Center
  • Maintain a neat and orderly facility

Work Schedule (In-Season)

  • Approximately April 1-Nov 30
  • Tuesday-Sunday
  • 2pm/3pm-Close
  • Meals
  • 401k with Employer Match (after 1st year)
  • $15/hr
  • Saint Andrew’s is a non-tipping club
  • All Employees are included in a yearly gratuity pool which is paid out quarterly ($3k-$5k annually)
  • Holiday Bonus
