Oakley Leads After Day One At Bethpage Red

 

BETHPAGE, N.Y. (August 10, 2022) - Day one of the 2022 Long Island Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship was in full swing today at Bethpage State Park's Red Course. 93 women competed among three divisions.

In the Championship Division, Caraline Oakley leads after today’s round. Oakley, a member of the Washington University in St. Louis Women’s golf team, finished at even par on the day. She eagled on Hole 9 and birdied on the 15th hole to maintain her lead. Paige Diecidue carded a round of 76 to stay in second heading into Thursday’s final round.

Miyeong Cho currently sits atop the First Division, shooting 9-over 82. The Second Division leader is Rita Timpanaro, who finished the round with a score of 18-over 91.
