Michael Karger of Century and Patrick Pierson of Hollow Brook headline the field as past champions. Karger claimed the title in 2012 at Fairview, while Pierson is the lone competitor to claim the championship twice, having won in 2014 and 2016 at Rockrimmon and Trump National Hudson Valley, respectively. Karger's run to the quarterfinals of this season's Westchester Amateur has highlighted his season. Pierson finished second in the Rockland County Amateur, while advancing to the Round of 16 at the Westchester Amateur.

Three competitors in the field have already tasted victory this season. Herrol Pryce of Baychester claimed the Public Links at Sterling Farms, and while Rob Johnson and John Vignola won the British Victory Cup together at Anglebrook, they'll be competitors over the two days at Saint Andrew's, which will serve as a superb test for the field.

Scoring will feature 9 and 18-hole updates, while additional coverage may be found on the WGA's Twitter, @WGA1916.
