USGA P.J. Boatwright Jr. Internship – 8 Months (Championship Department)

Responsibilities
Assist in the administration of the MGA Championship Department
- Support all the projects and activities of the Championship Department.
- Pre-tournament preparation (e.g. Course Marking, Course Set-Up, Local Rules, etc.)
- On-site tournament administration at approximately 50% of MGA Competitions.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of material for Championships, mailings, meetings, seminars.
- Handle correspondence and maintain records.
- Act as liaison to MGA member clubs and patrons on questions regarding MGA and other Met Area competitions.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of caddie training seminars and annual Tournament Officials Seminar.
Requirements
- Access to an automobile and ability to travel in the Tri-State area.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, telephone), public relations, and organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills (Access, Word, Excel, and database programs) and should have familiarity with internet operations.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced and team-oriented structure with emphasis on customer service ideals.
- Knowledge of golf and golf terminology.
