Championship Department – Metropolitan Golf Association
Position: Intern (Championship Department)
Period: March, 2019 – October, 2019 (8 Months)
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the administration of the MGA Championship Department
- Support all the projects and activities of the Championship Department.
- Pre-tournament preparation (e.g. Course Marking, Course Set-Up, Local Rules, etc.)
- On-site tournament administration at approximately 50% of MGA Competitions.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of material for Championships, mailings, meetings, seminars.
- Handle correspondence and maintain records.
- Act as liaison to MGA member clubs and patrons on questions regarding MGA and other Met Area competitions.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of caddie training seminars and annual Tournament Officials Seminar.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, telephone), public relations, and organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office and various database programs)
- Valid driver’s license with access to an automobile and the ability to travel throughout the Tri-State area.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced and team-oriented structure with emphasis on customer service ideals.
- Knowledge of golf and golf terminology.
Benefits:
- Salary – $2,000 per month, and travel expense reimbursement
