ELMSFORD, N.Y. (February 2, 2018) – A high quality selection of host venues await those competing in Westchester Golf Association championships in 2018, with the season stretching from May to September.

Familiar clubs once again host the WGA’s longest-running championships, as Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Conn., welcomes the 99th Westchester Amateur, June 5-7, and Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y., hosts the 96th Westchester Open Presented by Callaway, July 9-10.

Brooklawn is a proven championship test, having hosted the U.S. Junior in 1974, U.S. Women’s Open in 1979, U.S. Senior Open in 1987 and U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2003. Competitors will face a challenging layout, highlighted by its trademark A.W. Tillinghast greens, in addition to deep greenside bunkers and rolling fairways. The Westchester Senior Amateur and Super Senior Amateur are contested concurrently, with all flights deciding a champion through match play following qualifying in May. This will be the first Westchester Amateur hosted by Brooklawn, though the club has welcomed the Westchester Open on two occasions, including 2009.

Having completed its long-term master plan in the fall of 2016, Sunningdale will surely shine back in the spotlight as it hosts the Westchester Open for the fourth time in the championship’s history. The rolling property owns influences from Seth Raynor, C.B. Macdonald, Walter Travis and Tillinghast, while Mike DeVries completed the latest work which produced striking green complexes.

The first trophy of the season will be handed out May 22 at Hudson Hills Golf Course in Ossining, N.Y., as competitors vie for the Public Links Championship, while the WGA season comes to a close September 27-28 with the Mid-Amateur Championship at Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, Conn.

Registration, scheduled to open on March 1 for all events, will be completed through a new platform—USGA Tournament Management powered by Golf Genius—for competitors beginning in 2018. Players will have to register on the platform and create a profile in order to sign up for events. The platform also provides each championship with its own portal, which introduces a new look for leaderboards and live scoring.

A date and venue for both the British Victory Cup and Tournament of Champions is to be announced.
