2021 LIGA Schedule Announced

Noyac Golf Club will welcome the Long Island Amateur for the first time.


MINEOLA, N.Y. (January 7th, 2021) – The Long Island Golf Association has released its 2021 championship schedule, offering players a fantastic list of opportunities to compete at some of Long Island’s most respected venues in historic LIGA championships. Registration for the entire schedule will open on March 1.

The 2021 season will kick off with the Richardson Memorial Championship Presented by Keystone Electronics Corp., April 29 - May 1 at Wheatley Hills Golf Club.

The 97th Long Island Open Championship Presented by Stifel takes place June 8-10 at Fresh Meadow Country Club. This will be the Club’s fourth time hosting the Long Island Open, and its first since 2013 when then Fresh Meadow head professional Matt Dobyns claimed the title. Qualifying rounds take place May 12 at Bethpage State Park’s Red Course and May 24 at Indian Hills Country Club.

The following week, the 98th Long Island Amateur Championship Sponsored by Sterling National Bank will be held June 14-17 at Noyac Golf Club for the first time.

The 100th Long Island Junior Championship as well as the Boys and Girls championships return to Smithtown Landing, June 21. The Junior & Boys championships also act as a qualifier for the MGA’s 104th Met Junior Championship Sponsored by MetLife (The Tuxedo Club, July 13-15) and the MGA/MetLife Boys' Championship (details TBA).

The Mixed Pinehurst Championship takes place July 6 at Lawrence Yacht and Country Club within the MGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship. The Michael Hebron Amateur Championship returns to annual host Bethpage Black on July 7-8.

The Stoddard Trophy Matches between the LIGA, Westchester Golf Association and New Jersey State Golf Association head to the Garden State in 2021 with the NJSGA and Hackensack Golf Club hosting the team matches on August 9.

The Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship continues its run of competition on Bethpage State Park’s Red Course, August 11-12.

The LIGA Parent-Child Net Tournament takes place as a flight within the MGA’s newly named tournament of the same name, August 16 at the Tam O’Shanter Club. The event was formerly the Father & Son Net Tournament. The Long Island Mid-Amateur heads to Seawane Golf Club, September 14-15.

A trio of championships wrap up the season in October: the Long Island Senior Open Championship Sponsored by Steve Madden at Huntington Country Club (Oct. 12-13), the George Sands Memorial Four-Ball Championship at North Shore Country Club (Oct. 18) and the Long Island Senior Amateur Championship at Old Westbury Golf and Country Club (Oct. 21-22).
