Qualifying Concludes for 95th Long Island Open

MINEOLA, N.Y. (May 14, 2019) - Qualifying for the 95th Long Island Open Championship takes place May 14 at North Fork Country Club and May 21 at The Golf Club at Middle Bay, as players vie to advance to Hempstead for the June 4-6 event.

May 14 - North Fork Country Club, Cutchogue, N.Y.
Field Size: 62 | Qualifying Positions: 10 & ties
Eric Brelowski of Piping Rock led the field with a 4-under 67 to earn medalist honors, while Erik Easton of The Bridge carded a 2-under 69 as the two led a total of 16 qualifiers. A trio added scores of even-par 71, including 14-year-old Thomas Finn of Nassau.

May 21 - The Golf Club at Middle Bay, Oceanside, N.Y.
Field Size: 62 | Qualifying Positions: 11 & ties
Joseph Chalmers of North Hempstead and Philip Cardwell of Rockville Links posted 1-over-par 73s to lead a group of 13 players to advance to Hempstead. Chalmers finished with birdies on holes 16 and 17 on his way to shooting 1-under 35 on the inward nine. Cardwell rolled in two birdies on the front nine that helped him shoot even-par before making the turn. Extremely windy conditions made the course even tougher for the competitors with birdies coming at a premium.
