Svoboda Leads U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Laurel Links

Laurel, N.Y. - Andrew Svoboda, the reigning Met Open Champion, of Roslyn Harbor, N.Y., took home medalist honors from Tuesday's U.S. Local Qualifying Round at Laurel Links Country Club. With three consecutive birdies on his back nine, Svoboda led the field with a 4-under 67 to advance to Sectional Qualifying.

Graham Holds Off Bakst in Playoff

Jim Graham fired a final round 71, then used a pair of pars in a playoff to claim the 92nd MGA Senior Amateur Championship at Montclair Golf Club.

Six Advance through U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Alpine

Demarest, N.J. – Thomas Kalinowski of Scottsdale, Ariz., carded a 5-under 67 to finish as medalist at Monday’s U.S. Open Local Qualifying Round at Alpine Country Club. Kalinowski returned to the Northeast to qualify after having success here before, as he was the medalist in 2015 at nearby Montammy CC in 2015 and has advanced to the Sectional Stage a handful of times in the past.
