2000 French-American Challenge Set for October 17-19 at Atlantic GC

The MGA/WMGA & Ligue de Paris are set to square off in the 10th French American Golf Challenge at Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y., on October 17-19.

The Metropolitan Golf Association and the Ligue de Paris inaugurated the French-American Matches in 1990 in order to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie and goodwill between our two nations. They have become one of the most exciting and anticipated competitions on the Met Golf Calendar.

The competition alternates every two years between the Met Area and Paris, matching some of the world's finest amateur golfers in a Walker Cup-style of competition. Each team is comprised of six men and four women from the MGA/WMGA and the Ligue de Paris who compete over two days consisting of four-ball, foursome and singles matches.

The Matches traditionally kick off with an Am-Am competition which pairs each of the 20 team members with three amateurs in a best ball, stableford competition. This event, scheduled for October 17, offers a unique opportunity to entertain clients or business associates and to enjoy a round of golf on one of the Met Area's finest courses.

Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are available with all proceeds going to the MGA Foundation. Individual entry into the Am-Am is available for a cost of $1,000 or $2,500 for a team of three golfers.

The MGA Foundation is a 501-C (3) Charitable Foundation and all donations are tax deductible. If you would like to participate in this exciting week of international golf contact Jeanne McCooey at (914) 347-4653.
