THE FIRST TEE OF NASSAU COUNTY’S MARVIN PHISITKRAIYAKORN SELECTED NORTHEAST BOYS RBS “ACHIEVER OF THE YEAR”

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 30, 2006) - Marvin Phisitkraiyakorn, a participant in The First Tee of Nassau County junior golf learning program has been awarded the Northeast Boys RBS Achiever of the Year.  Marvin is one of the twelve finalists selected for this prestigious national honor out of the seventy well-deserving nominees. 

Marvin is a regular at The First Tee at Eisenhower Golf Course on Long Island and has been very successful as a member of the Met PGA’s Junior Tour. An honor student at Monsignor McClancy High School in Queens, Marvin survived a long battle with Leukemia in 2003, and is an accomplished Archer, as well as a golfer.  He is also  the winner of the first Met PGA Perseverance Award.

Along with the eleven other Achievers, Marvin will be honored at an event still to-be-announced this fall.  At this prestigious event, the overall boy and girl RBS Achievers of the Year will be selected with the winners to receive a $10,000 educational grant.

The tradition of the Metropolitan area producing RBS Achiever of the Year recipients continues through Marvin’s accomplishment. In 2004, Elizabeth Napoletano was recognized as the Overall Female Achiever, as was Sonya Mendez in 2005.
