ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 29, 2009) — PGA Tour star and Connecticut native J.J. Henry, formerly of The Patterson Club, hosted a fundraising event at The First Tee facility at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Bridgeport, Conn. “Breakfast with J.J.”included a breakfast with the 2006 PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup team member followed by a question-and-answer session hosted by GlenArbor Golf Club head professional Brian Crowell. The day concluded with an instructional clinic for participants in local First Tee programming.

The junior golfers in attendance were also invited to step up and show their own skills as Henry gave pointers on stance, grip and alignment. Autographs and questions filled the morning as Henry discussed his days growing up playing junior golf in Connecticut as well as his approach to PGA Tour events and how he prepares to compete against the best golfers in the world.

Henry presented a $15,000 check to The First Tee chapter on behalf of his own Foundation, The Henry House. Henry’s donation, and funds raised by the breakfast event, will support the growing Bridgeport First Tee facility, which is jointly operated by the MGA Foundation, the Met PGA and The First Tee of Connecticut, and which impacts thousands of kids throughout Fairfield County. For more information on the event please call The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, 718-655-9164, ext. 106, or contact Riley McCarthy (rmccarthy@mgagolf.org) at the MGA Foundation at 914-347-4653.
