Met Open Sites to Host Barclays in 2010 & 2011

ELMSFORD N.Y. (June 25, 2009) – Two of the next four Met Open Championships will have a distinct PGA Tour flavor, after an announcement by the Tour that The Barclays, the first FedEx Cup playoff event, will return to Ridgewood Country Club (left) in Paramus, N.J., in 2010 and visit Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., in 2011, after being held at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J., later this year. Ridgewood will be the site of the 94th Met Open Championship this coming August, and Plainfield will host the 97th Met Open when the event returns to New Jersey in 2012.

After a long run at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y., the PGA Tour brought The Barclays (more recently known as the Buick

Classic) to Ridgewood in 2008, a move that proved to be popular with players and fans. This year’s Met Open at Ridgewood, a 27-hole facility, will be played over the same 18-hole composite course used at the 2008 Barclays, which was won by Vijay Singh. It will be the fourth time that the Met Open has been played at Ridgewood.

In 2012, the MGA will bring the Met Open to Plainfield Country Club for the fifth time, just one year following The Barclays at the historic Donald Ross-designed course in Edison, N.J.
