King Headlines NJPGA's 2009 Award Winners

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 22, 2009) – Head pro Bill King of Spring Lake Golf Club was honored as the 2009 New Jersey PGA Golf Professional of the Year at the Section’s Fall Meeting, held on October 19th at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange, N.J.

King, 52, has been the head pro at Spring Lake for 19 years, and this is his first New Jersey Golf Professional of the Year honor.

In addition to King, there were a number of other professionals recognized at the meeting for their accomplishments both on and off the golf course. Scott Paris of Plainfield won the Bill Strausbaugh Award (Club Relations); Mike Strlekar of Montclair won for being the Merchandiser of the Year (Private); Joe Galan of Great Gorge was Merchandiser of the Year (Public); Tom Jaeger of Quail Ridge won Teacher of the Year; and Brad Olson of Rumson was named Assistant Golf Professional of the Year. Other award winners include Mike Attara of Eagle Ridge (Presidents Plaque); Len Siter of Mountain Ridge (Horton Smith Education); and Mark Giuliano and Fairmount Country Club (Club of the Year).

Three other professionals earned their honors as players. Brett Jones of Trump National-Bedminster won Player of the Year; Chris Dachisen of North Jersey was named Senior Player of the Year; and Clint Deibert of The Ridge at Back Brook was honored as Assistant Player of the Year.
