Rubeo and Sarlo win MGA Senior Net Four-Ball tournament

WEST ORANGE, N.J. (May 3, 2011)Peter Rubeo of Mohansic Golf Club and teammate Anthony Sarlo of Sprain Lake Golf Club won the 19th MGA Senior Net Four-Ball Tournament at Rock Spring Club in West Orange, N.J. with a score of 12-under-par 59.

Rubeo is a past winner of other MGA events including the Senior Net Four-Ball in 2002, when it was an individual event, the MGA/MetLife Men’s Net Team Championship in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 2008, and the 2010 MGA Father & Son Net Tournament.

Michael Friedman and Larry Neville of Monmouth Golf also shot 59 and placed second due the tie breaker going to the team with a greater total age.

Rounding out the top three positions with rounds of 10-under-par 61, were teams of Richard Lopiccolo of Bethpage & James Saporito of MGA eClub Long Island and Pasqual Camaj & Thomas Ognibene of Forest Park.

Steven Memoli of Cold Spring and Michael Romeo of St George's were the winners in the low gross category with their score of two-under-par 69.

The event is open to male amateur golfers who have reached 50 years of age by May 3, 2011 and maintain a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 18.0.
