Team Bakst Repeats At 62nd Father/Son Championship

Woodmere, N.Y. (August 13, 2012)– The Woodmere Club opened its doors to 84 teams and 168 players for the 62nd MGA Father & Son Championship. The championship featured a gross modified Pinehurst champion, as well as champions in the net and professional divisions.

For the second consecutive year, Ken and William Bakst of Friars Head took home the trophy, bringing in the low gross score of 3-under 67 to win. One shot back at 2-under 68 was the team of Keith and Neal Schuman of Alpine Country Club. Taking 3rd place was Charlie and Cole Meitner of the Tuxedo Club who shot 1-under 69.

In the professional division, Pravin and John Singh of Kutshers Country Club shot 5-under 65 to lead the field. The Singh duo was 5 shots clear of their closest competitors, Peter and Stephan Busch of Galloping Hill Golf Course and MGA e-Club – New Jersey, who shot even-par 70. Stu and Kenneth Kaufman of Westchester Country Club claimed the net division of the Father & Son Championship at 3-under(net), 67.
