ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 12, 2012) - Even if the calendar still says winter, one sign of spring is here: 2012 MGA Championship registration is now open. The lineup of host venues for 2012 championships is, as always, among the best in the country. Some highlights of the 2012 calendar include:

• The 57th Ike Championship presented by Canon Business Solutions at Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y., June 25 & 26
• The 110th Met Amateur Championship at Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, N.J., August 2-5
• The 97th Met Open Championship sponsored by MetLife at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., August 21-23
• The 85th MGA Senior Amateur Championship at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, N.J., May 7 & 8
• The 65th MGA/MetLife Public Links Championship at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y., July 12
• The 16th MGA Senior Open Championship at Garden City Country Club in Garden City, N.Y., August 27 & 28
• The Inaugural MGA Masters Tournament at the Country Club of Fairfield in Fairfield Conn., September 20
• The 6th MGA Mid-Amateur Championship at the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, N.Y., October 2 & 3

Also new for 2012 is the creation of a professional division for three of the MGA's most popular team championships—the MGA Father & Son Championships and the MGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship. For the first time ever, eligibility for these two championships will be extended to golf professionals who wish to play with an amateur partner. Prizes will be kept separate from the top three fully-amateur teams.
