Sisk Leads US Open SQR After 18 Holes

PURCHASE, N.Y. (June 3, 2013) - Looking to qualify for his sixth U.S. Open, Geoffrey Sisk of Marshfiled, Mass., fired a 3-under 68 at Century CC to lead the field of 79 hopefuls midway through sectional qualifying. Sisk, who successfully qualified through local and sectionals four times, was a member on the Web.com Tour in 2011 and led them in driving accuracy.

2004 MGA/MetLife Boys Champion Sunny Kim of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., is alone in second place after carding a 2-under 68 at Old Oaks CC. Kim, who grew up in Queens, N.Y., has been finding success on the GOLFlinger.com Tour down in Florida, where he ranks fifth on the money list.

David Schuster of New York, N.Y., Jesse Smith of Dover, N.H., and Colin Amaral of Port St. Lucie, Fla., are all tied for third after finishing their first round 1-under.

Eddie Kirby of Wakefield, R.I., is currently three off the pace after an even-par 71 and 2012 National Club Pro champion Matt Dobyns of Sea Cliff, N.Y., is four off the lead after a 72 at Century.
