51st MGA/Metlife Boys Championship Comes Back to Bedford

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 26, 2019) – Sixteen of the Met Area’s talented young players will square off at Bedford Golf and Tennis Club in the 51st MGA/MetLife Boys Championship, August 1-2.

The field is restricted to competitors not yet 16 years of age, with the bracket being completed through qualifiers conducted in conjunction with qualifying for the Met Junior Championship.

Nathan Drogin of Essex Fells, N.J., who won his first round matches each the last two years will compete in this event for the third consecutive year. He is joined by Owen Walsh of Katonah, N.Y., Will Lodge of Darien, Conn., and Tyler Donnellan of Riverside, Conn., who are playing for the second time.

A number of players also qualified and recently competed in the 102nd Met Junior, including Willian Fenton of East Williston, N.Y., Tyler Lee of Franklin Lakes, N.J., Sam O’Hara of Rye, N.Y., and Reed Greseryman of Short Hills, N.J. Greyserman also competed in this year’s Drive, Chip and Putt National Final at Augusta National.  

The MGA/MetLife Boys Championship was first played in 1969 at Westchester Country Club. Since 1987, the event has rotated between Bedford Golf and Tennis, Gardiner’s Bay in Shelter Island Heights, and Rumson in New Jersey.
