Dave Fusco Leads Qualifiers for Callaway MGA Senior Open
OLD GREENWICH, CT (August 12, 2019) -- A total of 61 competitors qualified for the 23rd Callaway MGA Senior Open during Monday's sectional qualifying round at Innis Arden Golf Club.
Dave Fusco of Patriot Hills was the medalist after his round of 1-over 71. He led the field of qualifiers for the championship, to be played at Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, N.Y., August 26-27.
Five players carded matching scores of 2-over 72 to safely earn a spot in the championship field: Amateurs Mark Thomson of Garden City GC, Kevan McKinney of Stanwich, Clark Holle of MGA eClub - NJ, Bart Weissman of Sterling Farm Men's, and Essex Fells' Brian Varsey.
Rounding out the top ten qualifiers was: Tom Sutter of Dunwoode (72), John Sanges of Rockaway Hunting (72), amateur Robert Johnson of Trump National - Hudson Valley (72), Michael Summa of Stanwich (74), Jerry Courville of Shorehaven (74), amateurs Matt Corrigan of Nassau Players (74), Robert Moriaty of Fairfield (74), and Tom Diciniti of Hudson Hills (74).
