The duo used a trio of net eagles on par-fives to earn the title, edging out five sides that tied for second with scores of 9-under 63. Despite starting with a bogey, Egitto and Malone made their first eagle on the second hole and settled in from there, turning in 4-under 31. After par on the par-five 10th, Egitto and Malone sandwiched their second eagle between a pair of birdies as they played Nos. 11 through 15 in 6-under.

After giving a pair of shots back on the next two holes, the pair closed with their final net eagle for their net 62.

In spirit of the event being for seniors, ties were broken by combined total age of the teams. Warren Larkin and Anthony Nicovic of Journeyman Players Club captured second place while John Merchant and Keith Wilster of Sprain Valley took third place.

Larkin and Nicovic had a pair of net eagles on the day, carding them on the par-four 9th and par-five 18th. Meanwhile, Merchant and Wilster’s 9-under score was a product of carding no net bogeys for the round.

Knickerbocker played as a par 72 from 6,091 for the players. The competition was open to male amateur members of MGA Member Clubs who had reached their 50th birdthday by the event’s date and have a Handicap Index not exceeding 18.0. Members did not need to be members of the same club.
