ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 21, 2020) -- At 15 years old, Megha Ganne has already made four trips to Augusta National Golf Club as a Drive, Chip and Putt national finalist. Though the Holmdel, N.J., native has aged out of that competition, she'll return to Augusta once again this spring, having accepted an invitation to compete in the 2020 Augusta National Women's Amateur, April 1-4.

As of Tuesday, January 21, the Augusta National Women's Amateur reported that 65 of 72 invitations had been accepted to the second playing of the event. While most have met specific qualifying criteria, Ganne earned her spot in the event by invitation from the Committee.

The invitation is well-earned for the past MGA/WMGA French-American Challenge competitor, following a stellar 2019 season. Ganne competed in the U.S. Women's Open and advanced to match play in the U.S. Girls' Junior before making a run to the semifinals of the U.S. Women's Amateur.

“An invitation to this championship represents another impressive achievement for the top players in the women’s amateur game. We look forward to welcoming the field to Augusta in April and remain steadfast in our belief that this event – highlighted by these talented players – will impact and grow interest in the sport in a meaningful way,” said Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament.

Beginning the week prior to the 84th Masters Tournament, the international field will compete over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut to 30 players taking place after 36 holes. The first two rounds will take place on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4 and will feature the competitors who made the cut.

Jennifer Kupcho, who now competes on the LPGA Tour, was the champion of the inaugural championship in 2019.

NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours (Noon – 3 PM ET) of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National. Golf Channel will deliver on-site highlights, live reports and news coverage throughout the event. Additionally, Golf Channel’s “Live From the Masters” will commence on Friday, April 3 at Augusta National to provide coverage of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals and the Masters Tournament.
