Inak Emerges Victorious at WMGA/MGA Public Links

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (July 12, 2018) – A birdie on the closing hole put an exclamation point on the round of Nabila Inak of MGA eClub – New York City, as she captured the 21st WMGA/MGA Women’s Public Links Championship on Thursday at Bethpage State Park Golf Course (Green).

Inak, a member of the Newberry College golf team, played steady through the day, carding nine-hole scores of 37-35 en route to her 1-over 72 and a two-shot victory.

She got off to a hot start carding a birdie on No. 2 and bounced back nicely with a birdie on No. 7 after consecutive bogeys on Nos. 4 and 5. She also closed her round on a high note, hitting her approach shot close and draining the birdie putt.

This is Inak’s second victory this week as she claimed the Long Island Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Bethpage (Red) on Tuesday.

Nicolette Dilluvio of The First Tee @ Eisenhower Park finished second with a round of 3-over 74, while Hope Laborne of EWGA – Long Island finished low net with a round of 7-under 64.

Bethpage (Green) played to a par-71 at 5,679 yards.
