Lombardi, Koshar Claim Senior Net Four-Ball

ARDSLEY, N.Y. (May 18, 2021) -- Ralph Lombardi and Richard Koshar of Neshanic Valley posted a net 10-under 61 on Tuesday at Ardsley Country Club, edging four other sides by one shot to claim the 28th MGA Senior Net Four-Ball Tournament.

Despite carding a net bogey to start their round, Lombardi and Koshar bounced back with four net birdies on their first nine to turn in 3-under 33. On their way in, the duo fired an impressive 7-under 28, tallying five net birdies and a net eagle on the par-5 11th en route to their 61 and the victory.

Combined age served as the tiebreaker for the Senior Net Four-Ball, with Anthony Sarlo and Peter Rubeo of Sprain Lake taking second place. Rubeo led the side, carding two net eagles and adding six net birdies himself. Bob Smith and Bill Steinmann of Forest Park secured third place on their combined age. Smith and Steinmann both contributed a trio of birdies and an eagle apiece in their 9-under net score.

The gross winner was also decided by age combination, with Michael Decker and Thomas Greenwood of Forsgate taking the top spot. The duo collectively posted four birdies over the first nine holes and added one on the way in for their 1-under 70. Bruce Rittenberg and Fred Eisman of Fairview took second, using four birdies to post their round of 70.
