ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 15, 2017) – The Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) has partnered with Digital Golf Pass (DGP) to enable golfers and the facilities they play in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut access to DGP’s discounted green fees and course-promotional tools.

The sophisticated platform developed by Digital Golf Pass (www.digitalgolfpass.com), launched in 2015, allows participating golf facilities a sane and systematic way to connect with deal-hunting golfers. In a marketplace increasingly dominated by third-party tee-time providers, DGP connects golfers and courses directly, without middlemen and the barter/transaction fees they charge. It upgrades antiquated print passbook (or discount card) programs with a more powerful, flexible, digital solution that delivers the deals golfers demand while providing digital-promotional power to participating courses.

DGP subscriptions will be available to Met Area golfers beginning in early 2018, and MGA members will receive an additional discount off this retail price. Membership in DGP’s Northeast Region retails for $49.95, a figure that DGP discounts will offset in a single weekend.

“With Digital Golf Pass, we’ve identified what we feel is the leading digital solution that will benefit both our golf courses and golfers in the tristate area,” says MGA Executive Director Brian Mahoney. “Golfers can easily access DGP on any device to take advantage of countless discounts and special offers. I can’t imagine any facility not wanting to be a part of this platform.”

DGP is completely free for participating courses. Facilities can offer up to nine individual discounts — on green fees, range balls, lessons, etc. — valid for DGP members only. Unlike discounts offered via third-party tee-time systems, DGP discounts are formulated entirely at the course operator’s discretion. Critically, DGP offers are not shown on the golf course website or any online booking engine.

Only subscribing DGP members can see them, before securely redeeming them via any mobile device in the golf shop — or they can print vouchers prior to the day of play.

“We understand that, today, there is indeed a golfing consumer who is always looking for the best deal. We’ve created a platform that delivers those deals while simultaneously serving as a truly free and effective marketing tool for golf operators,” said Damon Klepczynski, PGA Member and DGP Principal Partner. “Control is the primary driver here. All DGP discounts are guaranteed for golfers ahead of time. At the same time, DGP course operators totally control all the parameters of individual offers — frequency of play, time of day, and price.”

Digital Golf Pass currently serves golfers and course operators in 20 states, segmented into nine distinct regions. Golfers can join individual regions or, for an extra $24.95, upgrade to SuperPass — delivering access to every course and deal in the DGP platform.

DGP routinely partners with state and regional golf associations (and PGA sections) to better serve these regions. In September, DGP partnered with the Maryland State Golf Association and the Middle Atlantic Section PGA to better serve golfers and courses in its Mid-Atlantic Region.
