Qualifying: U.S. Junior and U.S. Girls' Junior

U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Qualifier Lucas Rizo-Patron.


LAWRENCE, N.Y. (June 14, 2022) - The MGA will conduct a pair of U.S. Junior Amateur qualifiers in addition to a U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur qualifier, all in back-to-back days. Juniors will be aiming to earn a spot at Bandon Dunes in Bandon, Ore., July 25-30, while Girls' qualifiers will move on to the Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky., July 18-23.

June 14 - Rockaway Hunting Club, Lawrence, N.Y.
Lucas Rizo-Patron of Rye, N.Y., used back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10-11 to lead him to his top finish with a score of 3-under 64 on the 17-hole stipulated round. Barnes Blake of Westfield, N.J., punched his ticket with a score of 2-under, also carding five birdies on the day while also making a trio of bogeys. After a playoff between Aidan Emmerich of Swamp Scott, Mass., William Green of Locust Valley, N.Y., and William Rich of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., at 1-under, Emmerich prevailed and seized the final qualifying position. Rich earned the first alternate spot and Green took the second alternate spot.

Dean Muratore of Dix Hills, N.Y., medaled with a 7-under 65, which included eight birdies and a lone bogey. Liam Pasternak of Morristown, N.J., also qualified with a 2-under 70, as well as Richie Reck of Middletown, N.J., and Lance Hollingshead of Basking Ridge, N.J., who both fired 1-under 71s.

June 15 - Watchung Valley Golf Club, Watchung, N.J.
Rayee Feng of Short Hills, N.J., made five birdies on her first nine en route to a 1-under 71 and medalist honors. Angelina Tolentino of Mount Laurel, N.J., and Sammie Dolce of Florham Park, N.J., both qualified with a 1-over 73, while Megan Meng of Pennington, N.J., advanced with a 2-over 74.
