Somerset Hills Provides Perfect Backdrop For MGA Foundation Day of Golf

BERNARDSVILLE, N.J. (May 10, 2021) – Cloudy skies did not damper the mood at Somerset Hills Country Club for the MGA Foundation’s Annual Day of Golf. Over 150 golfers took to the course Monday, competing in a Best Ball format. Prizes were awarded for the top three gross and net scores. Ken Whitney, Joel Suskin, Matt Rawitzer and Ed Brockner were the low gross at 7-under. John Kilcullen, Matt Elliot, Will Carkhuff and Mike Boslet were the low net at 12-under.

The course was a perfect backdrop for the special event, with many holes offering stunning views throughout the day. MGA partners played an important role in the event, with Lexus and Callaway providing on-course activations.

MetLife was also featured around the course. A sponsor for 41 years, MetLife continues to be an essential part of everything the MGA Foundation does.

The fourth hole, dubbed “Dolomites,” featured the Callaway Long Drive contest. Will Carkhuff registered the furthest drive. Callaway also sponsored the closest to the hole contest on Somerset Hills gorgeous 12th “Despair.”   Michael Rudin was the winner. Lexus sponsored the hole in one challenge on the difficult par-3 8th, “Dip.”  The hole played just over 200 yards and into the wind on Monday. No one was able to drive away from the hole in anything other than a golf cart.

The MGA Foundation Day of Golf always provides an incredible opportunity to celebrate some of the great initiatives run by the Foundation and show thanks to the numerous donors, without whom the charitable initiatives would not be possible.

All money raised on Monday will go directly towards supporting these various charitable avenues, including the Foundation’s flagship internship program GOLFWORKS and the Jay Mottola Scholarship Fund.

While the Day of Golf is complete, the MGA Fore the Kids auction will stay open through May 20th at 5:00 p.m. You can place your bids here and help support the MGA Foundation.

Next year the MGA Foundation Day of Golf will head to The Atlantic Club on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, during the MGA’s 125th Anniversary year celebration.

Thank you to all who continue to support the MGA Foundation and those who joined us for the 2021 Day of Golf!
