Ballou played consistently throughout her round, carding a birdie on the par-4 5th hole to make the turn at four over. A consistent stretch of pars on holes 12-16 brought her into the clubhouse at 8-over and with the low score of the day.

"I was playing a lot in regulation, a lot of just fairways and greens and then two putts, and I'll capitalize on that any time I said," said Ballou. "It was fun, we had some local knowledge in our group, so I had some ideas on some of the blind fairways of what was ahead of you, which was really helpful." Ballou is a 2014 graduate of Seton Hall University where she was a member of the women's golf team. She plays competitively on a regular basis as part of the Weekenders Women's Golf Club, a Staten Island based club that plays on the courses throughout Staten Island and beyond.
