Players should note that registration, scheduled to open on March 1 for all events, will be completed through USGA Tournament Management powered by Golf Genius. Players will have to register on the platform and create a new profile in order to sign up for events. The platform – used for a number of events in 2018 – provides each championship with its own portal featuring championship information, mobile-friendly leaderboards, live scoring and more.

Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J., Hudson National Golf Club in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., and Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley, N.Y., gather in the spotlight in 2019 as hosts of the MGA’s major championships – the Ike, Met Amateur and Met Open.

After hosting U.S. Open sectional qualifying each of the last three years, Canoe Brook steps back into the MGA championship schedule by welcoming the 64th Ike MGA Stroke Play Championship Presented by Callaway, June 25-26. Players will compete on the club’s North Course in hopes of hoisting the iconic Ike bust trophy. As it hosts the Ike for the first time, Canoe Brook will become the 17th Met Area club to host all three of the MGA’s majors.

The Met Amateur – the MGA’s oldest championship which will celebrate its 117th playing – heads to Hudson National for the second time, August 1-4. The heralded Tom Fazio design, which ranks No. 81 in Golf Digest’s 2019-2020 America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, will test the Met Area’s top amateurs as they play 36 holes of stroke play in hopes of grabbing one of 16 spots in match play.

August 20-22, the Met Open Championship Presented by Callaway makes its debut at Piping Rock Club in its 104th playing. The Met Area’s top professionals and amateurs will take on the classic C.B. Macdonald layout, which exemplifies golden age architecture even more following a restoration by Bruce Hepner in 2015.

The Met Area’s rising stars also have a spectacular lineup of host venues for 2019 championships, as Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore, N.Y., hosts its first-ever MGA championship with the 102nd Met Junior Championship Sponsored by MetLife, July 17-19; Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., returns to its traditional hosting duties for the 17th MGA Carter Cup, August 31; and Bedford Golf & Tennis Club in Bedford, N.Y., serves as home to the 51st MGA/MetLife Boys Championship, August 1-2.

The season begins at a familiar site as Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, N.J., hosts competitors aged 55 and older for the 92nd MGA Senior Amateur Championship, May 6-7. Montclair has hosted a record-sharing eight different MGA events, last welcoming the Ike in 2014.

The season’s schedule will come to a close with the 15th Governor Hugh L. Carey Challenge Cup, October 22-23, when Arcola Country Club in Paramus, N.J., welcomes the MGA’s biennial team competition against the Golfing Union of Ireland. Arcola shined as host of the 2018 Met Amateur, creating great anticipation for its hosting of the Ryder Cup-style event. The event will be preceded by an Am-Am competition – which serves as a fundraiser for the MGA Foundation – on October 21.
