UPDATE (February 17, 2023) -- Jack Wall of Brielle, N.J., produced a solid PGA TOUR debut in the Genesis Invitational, carding rounds of 74-72 (+4) to miss the cut by just three shots. Wall, the 2020 Met Amateur champion and two-time MGA Junior Player of the Year, began both days with birdies at Riviera Country Club. In round two, Wall followed with 10 consecutive pars on the challenging layout. The field boasted one of the strongest of the year so far, serving as one of this season's designated events on the PGA TOUR that will feature the game's top players.

Wall now returns his focus to his senior campaign at Texas Tech University, where he and the Red Raiders next play at PGA West in The Prestige, hosted by Stanford University Feb. 20-22.

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (February 13, 2023) -- A clutch birdie-eagle performance in a playoff of the Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase landed Texas Tech University senior Jack Wall of Brielle, N.J., a big victory at Riviera on Monday. The win earned Wall, a two-time MGA Junior Player of the Year, a spot in this week's Genesis Invitational where he'll be making his first-ever PGA TOUR start.

Wall and Kentucky's Alex Goff finished the 18-hole pro-am style event with even-par 71s. Both competitors made birdie on Riviera's iconic, short par-4 10th to make play continue. Wall, the 2020 Met Amateur champion, then came in clutch on the par-5 11th, bombing a drive and finding the green in two before holing an eagle putt from 25 feet for the win.

“It was a good finish,” Wall said after his win. “I stayed focused during the playoff and, just to be in contention here and have the chance at a PGA TOUR start, I’m really proud of the way I handled the last couple holes.”

Wall will be competing in one of the strongest fields on the PGA TOUR so far this year, with 19 of the top-20 players in the Official World Golf Ranking set to tee it up.

The event was first played in 2015. Wall's win also earned a $50,000 donation for the Texas Tech men's golf program.
