ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 23, 2021) -- Four-time MGA champion and former MGA Player of the Year Cameron Young of Sleepy Hollow claimed his first career Korn Ferry Tour victory, Sunday, winning the AdventHealth Championship by two shots with a 19-under tournament total. Young posted rounds of 64-69-68-68 at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Mo., recording the KornFerry Tour's first wire-to-wire victory since 2018.

“It's hard kind of to work through them at the moment, to be honest,” Young told the media of the emotions after his victory. “Obviously the last hour or so I probably had a good feeling I was going to win, but it's hard to get through those last few holes and, you know, hit the shots that I needed to hit. I was a little bit squirrelly down the stretch."

Young entered the final day with a two-shot lead and made the turn in 2-under following four birdies and a pair of bogeys. He added two more circles to his scorecard on Nos. 13 and 17 to secure the two-shot win over South African Dawie van der Walt.

Less than a year ago, Young had no status on a professional tour. He then Monday qualified, igniting a stretch of T11-T14-T6-T2 finishes that secured Special Temporary Membership on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Young led the field in driving distance for the week and played the par-5s in 13-under.

Following his victory, Young ranks No. 26 on the Points List as he sets sights on securing a PGA TOUR card.
