HAWORTH, N.J. (August 15^th, 2013) –Today at the 24^th MGA Father Son Net Championship at White Beeches Golf and Country Club in Haworth, N.J., there was a tie in the amateur division for low net winner, setting up an 18-hole playoff to be determined at a later date. Prizes were awarded for the low net, low net runner-up and third place for the amateur division.

SCARBOROUGH, N.Y. (August 14, 2013) – After the first round of play at the 50^th Williamson Cup at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, N.Y., it is the MGA in the lead, looking to capture their third consecutive victory. There are 10 total golf associations in today’s competition and each team consists of four players. Team score is determined by taking the top three scores per 18 holes in the 36-hole competition.

UPDATED-4:39 P.M. 8/7/13 - The Met Area locals in the U.S. Women's Amateur have all completed their opening match at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. and each of them advanced into the round of 32. 

Securing her spot in the next round first was Nicole Morales of South Salem, N.Y., winning her match 2 and 1. She will play tomorrow at 8:20 a.m. against 20th seed Casie Cathrea of Livermore, Calif. 

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 5, 2013) - The Met Area will be well represented again at this year’s PGA Championship at New York’s own Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

GREENWICH, CONN. (August 1, 2013) – The 111^th Met Amateur Championship at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn. is underway and players have completed their first round. A few competitors got off to hot starts, but a steady rainfall beginning shortly before 11 a.m. provided a much more difficult back nine for the field of 59 players. The top 16 after 36 holes of play will move on to the match play portion of the tournament.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 31, 2013) – The MGA’s 11^th Carter Cup is underway at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J. and the Met Area’s top junior players are through their first round in this 36-hole Junior Stroke Play Championship. The first half of play was conducted on Baltusrol’s Upper Course, which played as a par 71 (35-36) to 6,921 yards.

UPDATED: March 25, 2013) - All four Met Area amateurs in the field at the rain-shortened Azalea Invitational placed in the top 40, giving the Met Area another strong showing in the renowned championship. 

Liu was the low local, firing a sensational 8-under 63 in the second round to finish T4. Miller ended up in 7th after shooting a pair of 70s. 

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (February 11, 2013) -  The USGA unveiled their biggest championship developments in the last 25 years on Monday, Feb. 11, when they announced the additions of the U.S.

August 7, 2012 (Update: 2:30 P.M.)– The morning wave of the 23rd Father & Son Net Championship has completed play and, as expected, the scores are low and competition is at a very high level. The team of Paul and Vincent Adimando is currently leading the tournament after shooting a net score of 7-under 65.
