(August 18, 2011) - The Met Open Championship sponsored by MetLife is the largest and most prestigious championship on the MGA calendar, and is the third-oldest open championship in the country. While it always draws an outstanding field of professionals and amateurs, the 96th playing, set for Tuesday, August 23 through Thursday, August 25 at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, N.Y., boasts the finest collection of talent in recent memory, with several players who have made an impact on a national scale.

Round of 16 Matches

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 9, 2011) - The Met Area’s top junior golfers under the age of 16 take their talents to the shores of New Jersey for the 43rd MGA/MetLife Boys Championship, set to be played August 11 & 12 at Rumson Country Club in Rumson, N.J. The two-day, match play event features a field of 16 of the Met Area’s rising stars on a Rumson track that has hosted this event on nine previous occasions.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 11, 2011) - The dream is over for Nicole Morales, Annie Park and Cindy Ha, who all fell in their Round of 16 matches at the 2011 U.S. Women's Amateur at Rhode Island Country Club.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (August 8, 2011) -- Five years ago, Ellen Gyapong couldn’t have told you the meaning of the word “golf,” because five years ago, Ellen Gyapong wasn’t even in this country. Originally from the west African nation of Ghana, Gyapong now resides in White Plains, N.Y., is an avid golfer, and has been a participant in the MGA’s GOLFWORKS student intern program at Metropolis Country Club in White Plains since 2009.
