LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. (August 6, 2011)– The stage is set for the finals of the 109th Met Amateur at Piping Rock, as two 19-year-old stars will square off for the coveted silver trophy on the spectacular Long Island course. Sam Bernstein of Century and Mike Miller of Knollwood will play the 36-hole finale on Sunday, August 7, beginning at 7:30 a.m. This is the first trip to the finals of the MGA’s oldest championship for both competitors.

LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. (August 5, 2011)– Day two of the 109th Met Amateur featured close matches, convincing wins, and moments of redemption as 16 players were weeded down to four after two rounds of match play on another beautiful day at the Piping Rock Club. 

Meet the Semifinalists

The elite eight has become the final four as Alex Edfort, Sam Bernstein, Mike Miller and Matt Lowe have 18 holes today to make the finals of the 109th Met Amateur at piping rock club in locust Valley, N.Y. Edfort faces off against Bernstein in the first match, which began at 12:00 p.m. and Miller will take on Lowe at 12:10.

(August 4, 2011) – The 2011 MGA Williamson Cup team has been selected and will compete in 48th edition of the Williamson Cup Matches, which will be held on Monday, August 8th at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Md. This year’s team will consist of four very accomplished junior golfers, including Clancy Waugh of New York, N.Y., Anthony Alex of Wayne, N.J., Kyle Brey of Farmingdale, N.Y. and Cody Gross of Babylon, N.Y.

LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. (August 4, 2011) – The 109th Met Amateur Championship at the Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley, N.Y., is off to an exciting start. With near-ideal conditions on the classic C.B. Macdonald layout, the 63 competitors who began today’s 36 holes of stroke play qualifying showcased their talents, with 14 players shooting par or better in the first round.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (August 3, 2011) – Theo Humphrey of Greenwich, Conn., raced to the first-round lead of the 9th Carter Cup at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., with a three-under-par 69. Humphrey, 15, played consistent golf for the first 15 holes and accentuated his round by holing out for eagle on the par-4 16th from 143 yards, and followed that up with a birdie on the par-5 17th.
