ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 15, 2014) - Only two rounds remain at the Web.com Tour Q-School Finals at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and the fates of three Met Area locals comes down to the final 36 holes. After four rounds of play 2009 MGA Player of the Year Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven has put himself in great position to make a run at a top 10 finish, which would earn him exemptions for 12 Web.com Tour events.

Wilson Surges in Second Round of Web.com Tour Q-School Finals

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 12, 2014) - After firing 3-over 74 yesterday Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven found himself tied for 104th and needing to make up some ground. In his second round Wilson did just that on the Fazio Course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., carding a 6-under 66 that featured seven birdies and just one bogey. The 2009 MGA Player of the Year and reigning NCAA Individual Champion shot 82 spots up in the standings and sits at 3-under through 36 holes, tied for 22nd with 72 holes left to play over the next four days.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 11, 2014) - The first round of play is complete at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. in the Web.com Q-School Finals and while none of the three locals in the field went under par, they still have five rounds to make up ground. The leading man was Marc Turnesa of Rockville Centre, N.Y., who carded an even par 72 on the Fazio Course. Turnesa's round featured five birdies, but five bogeys kept him from a solid under par round and have him tied for 51st after the first day.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 8, 2014) - The final stage is set for Web.com Tour Qualifying School and three Met Area locals are gearing up for the six-round 108 hole tournament that begins this Thursday at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on the Fazio and Champion courses. Competitors will play 18 holes each day until next Tuesday when the top 45 players that earn exemptions onto the 2015 Web.com Tour will be determined.

HARRISON, N.Y. (December 4, 2014) - Stephen F. Boyd of Morristown, N.J., was elected to a one-year term as President of the Metropolitan Golf Association at the Association’s 117th Annual Meeting and Dinner on Wednesday, December 3 at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y. Boyd, a member of Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., is the MGA’s 62nd President. He will lead the 22-member Executive Committee and will serve as the chairman of the Association’s charitable Foundation.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 10, 2013) - Beginning Thursday, December 12, Mike Ballo of Stamford, Conn., Sunny Kim of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Chris Scialo of New York, N.Y., will compete in the Final Stage of Qualifying School with hopes of earning Tour Cards for the 2014 Web.Com Season.
