Croton-On-Hudson, N.Y.--Youth was served in today's 99th Met Amateur Championship semifinal round at Hudson National Golf Club.  Both semifinal matches pitted former champions versus victory hungry youths.  In both matches the youths prevailed, with both seeking the biggest victory in their young careers in tomorrows 36-hole final.

ELMSFORD, N.Y.--The terrible, cowardly terrorist acts of September 11, 2001 has hit the Met Area’s golf community particularly hard.  There is not a club or golf facility in the MGA region that has not been directly impacted by this horrible tragedy.  Some of our clubs have suffered a terrible toll in the number of members lost or missing.

ELMSFORD, NY….MGA Tournament Director/Assistant Executive Director Gene Westmoreland was elected president of the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) for 2002 during the 35th IAGA Annual Meeting held November 11-14, 2001 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He becomes the first person in IAGA history to hold the position of president while maintaining associate membership status.

MGA Team Ready to Head to Portmarnock for 2001 Carey Cup

The Metropolitan Golf Association has announced the members of their eight-man amateur team which will compete in the 4th Governor Hugh L. Carey Cup Matches on the old course at the Portmarnock Golf Club in Portmarnock, Ireland (just north of Dublin) on May 7-9.

The competition will consist of Four-ball, Foursome and Singles matches on May 8th and 9th, preceded by an “Am-Am” tournament on May 7th.
