PURCHASE, N.Y. (October 14, 2014) - The MGA and MGA Foundation hosted the annual Presidents Council Fall Conference on October 14 at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, N.Y. More than 175 leaders from MGA member clubs attended the seminar to learn about and discuss industry trends and issues affecting area clubs. The Presidents Council Fall Conference is a part of the MGA Foundation's series of educational programs, and each year features a panel of distinguished guests who present to the full group.

WEST CALDWELL, N.J. (October 8, 2014) – The 8th MGA Mid-Amateur Championship at Mountain Ridge Country Club came down to the final few holes between Fairleigh Dickinson college roommates Niall Handley of Essex Fells and Brian Komline of Black Oak. In the end, thanks to a spectacular up-and-down on the 18th hole, Handley won his second MGA Mid-Amateur, joining Dennis Lynch as the only two-time winners in the event’s history.

(October 7, 2014) – The first round of the 8th MGA Mid-Amateur Championship is complete at Mountain Ridge Country Club and Brian Komline of Black Oak is leading after firing a round of 2-under 69. A total of 40 players advanced to the final round after shooting a score of 78 or better.

2014 French-American Challenge Matches

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 3, 2014) – Ten players representing the MGA and WMGA will travel to Paris for the 17th French-American  Challenge, a biennial competition between the MGA/WMGA and the Ligue de Paris. This year’s matches will be played at the beautiful Golf de Saint Cloud, one of France’s premier courses, on October 17 & 18.

FLORAL PARK, N.Y.  (October 2, 2014) – It was an exciting finish at the 30th MGA/MetLife Women’s Four-Ball Championship at Towers Country Club as three teams found themselves in a playoff to determine the champions. After sinking a 32-foot putt on the first playoff hole, Susan Canarick and Janet Mazza of the Glen Cove Women’s 18 Holers claimed first place. Canarick and Mazza had a dramatic finish on their final hole of regular play and chipped in for a net 63 to send them to the playoff.
